Gals,
During our recent filming debut the photographer managed to capture a couple of snaps of the action on the day. I love the pic with the blurred TV cameraman in the background. It reminds me of the surrealism of the whole day. We all had a blast and we are looking forward to sharing the feature with you all when it hits the box!

Ava practicing her Milan strut!

Guys,
We have been dying to share the most recent client corner with you all as it was such a lovely experience for everyone involved. One of Etsy's finest "Liaison" got in touch to create a bolero for her adorable daughter Ava who happens to be one of the tiniest fashionistas we have come to meet to date. We created one of our silver Victorian Boleros in miniature for Ava as it was to match in with her beautiful dress for a special family event and she looked absolutely adorable in all her finery.
Mom Katherine runs her own stunning label creating out of this world wearable art for quirky rockstars and the like! We have attached a sample of Katherines work above but you can see lots more at http://www.liaison.etsy.com/ , you will be blown away by this ladies talents!
All round a really fun collaboration and a fantastic little girl!

Hi Gals,
We have been sourcing some new shades of silk to bring into our Bridal range of late and I was hopelessly drawn to this rich Regal Yellow Shade on the silk swatch book. I kept leaving it and going back to it, heck, I think even Ger thought I had lost my marbles when I told her we had just purchased a lot of yellow! ( baring in mind that Im not a gal for too much color and always tend to lean towards old muted tones ) so this vivid yellow is a welcome change for me. :)
I like to think of it as a Tudor style yellow as its got a very regal finish to it when its made up into boleros and wraps etc. It also rocks with ivory for bridal ....so now ladies all we need are a few very stylish brave gals to be edgy enough to add a pop of color to their special day!

Hi Gals.........
Its been a crazy week!! We had a blast with our TV gig, and we are really looking forward to sharing that with you all when its screened. As with most media gigs, its not up for sharing just yet until the station have their go first but for sure we will be blogging it, facebooking it and youtubing it when it does air, so there will be lots of opportunities to see it.
Ger and I are generally very shy with regards to photos etc so it was a nailbiting experience to be filmed by a National TV station and we have been on a come down ever since.
We took our etsy shop off Vacation Mode and reopened for business and quite literally the floodgates opened up! *note to self : never a good idea to take a week off etsy!!! The week after is a minefield of convoing, catching up on orders, shipping and all out general mayhem while we catch up on ourselves again!
Oh, we also sent a big box of goodies up to an Irish Bridal Magazine in Dublin so we are very excited to see how that works out and we will of course be sure to share the results with you when they hit the shelves.
Meanwhile back at the ranch we got a fabulous email from one of our delightful clients, Carina ( yes that's the girl one of our boleros is named after!) and she recently had an opportunity to write a review in Viva La Moda magazine, we were blown away by what Carina wrote about her experience with us and it literally brought a tear to my eye to know that something we do with our hands can mean so much to others. Its a lovely reminder of how grateful we are to be earning a living with our creativity.
Thank you sincerely to Carina. xxx

Well gals a vacation sound like fun right now!! However, we have been given some very exciting news about 2 awesome projects coming up in the Irish Media and we have been working on preperations in the studio for both items.
Our wee "bonzie" store on http://www.bonzie.etsy.com/ has just been placed in vacation mode to give us a better chance of focusing in the studio on preps for both events. All will be returned to normal within a week and we hope to meet all your bolero and couture needs again soon. :)
For now its all systems go and busyville for a week, its all very exciting in the bonzie studios at the moment and we are looking forward to sharing our news with you all soon. xxx

Gals,
I just had to share this recent snap from Dad. It doesn't get much more "Steampunk" than this!!!
Its a photo taken of a local chemist/pharmacy in my hometown, Clonmel. Unbelievably this establishment was open when I was a child and Mam used to purchase ointments and interesting lotions in gorgeous glass apothecary style jars with labels and twine on them. Its got such antiquated character, almost reminds me of a set from a Tim Burton film!!
Folk often ask us where we get our inspiration from and quite simply a local building like this will fuel the creative juices every time! Honestly, can you not see a jacket in this picture??
