Hi guys,

I'm still here................

As you guys all know I have been making trackways through the list of custom orders in the shop of late and wanted to share this beauty with you before it leaves the store on its merry way to an awesome client across the pond.

I was given the colours black, ivory and pewter to create a matching set that would compliment a very elegant black dress for a VIP wedding guest. I have to say had I not been asked to do this colour combo, I might never have come across such a cool combination. I really love the richness of how these little guys came out and I am also very excited that they are going to be worn too as a pair, I think they will look really funky with a refined black number!

This is a piece that I was commissioned to make for a lovely bride to be on etsy. I have never come accross these fingerless lace gloves before and I was really interested in giving them a shot! I really enjoyed working on these, what can I say the lady loves lace! they are the perfect balance of feminine delicacy with a touch of punk bride if you ask me ! Really awesome idea and glad I gave them a whirl. ;)

Ok, before I ever stumbled upon etsy and got my boutique up and running I used to spend endless hours scouring google for anything remotely related to design, fashion, craft, romantic, deconstructed, baroque, renaissance.........yada yada yada, basically all the things that I enjoy and find inspiring! one of the things that kept coming up in my searches was a blog by an absolutely inspiring lady called Ulla! I spent a long night reading through her entire blog (and trust me guys this lady is a prolific blogger person), I was totally blown away by the abundance of inspiration throughout the blog not to mention the fact that Ulla seemed to blog about all the things that I am really drawn to but can never quite manage to find!

Well a short while ago I was just shocked to find a message from this very same lady in my inbox in my etsy store enquiring about a couture scarf to be made! Its such an awesome feeling to be asked by someone that you look up to, to make something of your own for them! This was definitely a highlight for me and made me think about how small the world is! In particular the crafting community online! which is fantastic!

For sure if you appreciate fine design and whimsical inspiration go check out http://www.ullam.typepad.com/ and don't blame me if you become an addict! (I know I am!) ;)

My youngest client is a little girl (aptly named) Sally Ann! She is a little doll and her mum loves to dress her in clothes inspired of yesteryear! I love working on her outfits and the most recent one being her commission for christmas! A beautiful burgundy number with petticoat frilling, antique lace and petticoat bloomers for underneath! I always enjoy this kind of work as I get to indulge in more ruffles and frills than any adult would possible get away with it!! lol
Just for fun I added a little hat and scarf with complimenting victorian ruffles!

Yes ladies,
I have been very busy preparing for the launch of my etsy online boutique where anybody can purchase styles like the ones you see posted on my blog!! I am expecting to get the show on the road by next week.

I had a fantastic weekend, at the fabulously talented Linda Mckay's millinery workshop weekend. The venue was mind blowing, like an article out of an interiors magazine, and the constant stream of refreshments kept everyone oohhhhhhhing and aahhing on a regular basis. The workshop itself was fascinating, and everyone created the most amazing pieces under the guidance of a creative genius, that is , Linda Mckay. It was such a great experience to be in her studio, rummaging through her boxes of vintage trinkets, antique laces, beads and hand dyed feathers! quite honestly guys, I was foaming at the mouth! And the best bit was, all these materials were simply there for the taking, Linda generously implies a system of , take what you need to make it happen!
Major props go out to Janice our host who spoiled us rotten for the weekend with fab homecooked dishes and desserts and juices and lattes and treats........did I mention a constant stream of refreshments!!
If you are living in Ireland or fancy a visit to this neck of the woods, it is a highly recommended form of relaxation and enjoyment. Go check Linda out at the link on the right hand side, listed under talented people, why of course!!!
