Lately we have been very fortuanate to have worked with some really special clients for their wedding accoutrement's. Many of these ladies have returned to share pics of their special day with us and we have been collecting up all these images and we thought it would be nice to share them with you. We decided to have a post on the blog each week dedicated to "Client Corner" to share some of the inspirational images that come back to us through our etsy clients.
The pic shown above is from an absolutely fabulous bride who we worked with a wee while ago for a vintage inspired shrug. I adore the photo and how it has captured such a natural looking couple on such an amazing day, I love the ethereal nature of this shot! The photographer for the day was Nadia Anderson, a lady with a gifted eye for style! The whole shot has such an editorial quality to it, truly like a fashion spread for vogue, I'm thinking the fact that our client looks like a model and has a fabulously handsome beau helps somewhat too ;)
Thank you guys for sharing this with us both, it is so uplifting to see our creations in real life situations, heres to a magical future for you both.
we are looking forward to sharing more of these client snaps in future too.

A while back I mentioned about some really awesome news that I was really excited about. I wanted to share this with you guys to keep you informed with whats going on with the label each step of the way. :)
At a point along the way I had realized that doing absolutely everything alone was a bit of a task. designing, constructing, emailing, shipping, wrapping, marketing, sourcing, buying....yada, yada, yada, the list goes on but you get the drift! I was longing for someone to share the experience with, sombody with the same obsessive passion for it as me, someone as anal about "the look" and the finish as me and someone mostly who I could rely on and could share the journey with. As fate would have it that somone was under my nose all along. In fact the lady I asked to join me was no other than the very person who inspired me to start creating in the first place way back when I was too young to even hold a scissors! My Auntie Ger, one of my Dads younger sisters. Ger has joined the "Bonzie" starship enterprise as my partner, my rock, my other half and head of production. Ger is also a fully qualified designer and tailor bringing years of bridal experience, in fact we joked at the beginnning about how we are now like yin and yang, Im a fan of randomness and Ger is a fan of precision and between the two of us we are creating some interesting new pieces and bubbling with plans for developing the label.
Its so lovely to have someone to share such an awesome experience with and I can't think of anyone I would rather be sharing it with. Even during times of stress and impending deadlines we manage a giggle. Recently on the day that I was heading to Kerry for the recent bridal mag photoshoot we had a bit to do on one of the pieces that contained hundreds of handmade corsages, we were working literally against the clock and both of us on the studio floor sewing beading in a frenzy... needless to say hysteria kicked in and we were so stressed we got into a fit of the giggles, rolling around on the floor covered in organza until I decided that wasn't funny enough and stood on the pot of pearls ( the one that Ger keeps with THOUSANDS in it) which went rolling all over the floor, there we were now in a sea of pearls, organza, and both of us in the foetal position laughing hysterical, all the while this skirt was still sitting unfinished on the mannequin and time was running out! To finish it off I then decided that it would be a good idea to sew the skirt right through the mannequin cover so that we couldn't even get it off, at this point Ger was purple in the face and choking on the giggles.
Its the days like these that make be a design duo absolutely fabulous!
I hope you guys welcome Ger to the blog too and I want to thank her for bringing her drive and passion to something that means so much to me.

Productivity is starting to pick up in the studio. The recent spate of busyness has forced me to get more productive and learn to make multiples of items as opposed to lingering on one piece at a time ( as an artist often does! lol) I find it tough to think in 2's and 3's let alone 8's and 9's but I must pick up the pace to keep up with the custom orders on right now.
Red Bull is beginning to look very attractive at this point ! lol
hope y'all are having an awesome weekend. We spent it putting in our new kitchen in cherry red high gloss! Its very cool.

This is a piece that I was commissioned to make for a lovely bride to be on etsy. I have never come accross these fingerless lace gloves before and I was really interested in giving them a shot! I really enjoyed working on these, what can I say the lady loves lace! they are the perfect balance of feminine delicacy with a touch of punk bride if you ask me ! Really awesome idea and glad I gave them a whirl. ;)

I have been working on a new bag for my pal SimplySus on etsy. Sus has another one of my bags and this time we went for froo froo with bells and whistles on, ie all the trimmings. I love how this turned out and I am really growing fond of grey at the moment. *note to self, check out what an attraction to grey might signafy in colour therapy!*

Sumptuous layers of tea stain tulle sculpt around the the shoulders and sit elegantly up against the neck framing the face! A must for any bride to be looking for that couture cover up option! ;)

Ok, so I decided to pop a few of my bridal pieces into my etsy shop ( for the sheer joy of fluffing it up a little! ) I am totally aware that its impossible to sell an higher end items over the net and especially something as special as a wedding dress, because lets face it , that baby needs a lot of fitting before the wedding day! But I thought it would be a nice element to add to the shop just to show a little of what can be done with that particular victorian/steampunk style and not being afraid to introduce a few frayed edges (sacre coeur!) into a wedding gown! (well why not!)
An etsy pal Rubyclover asked me how did I get that ethereal quality to the photos and to be quite honest Rubes, (nothing to do with camera, or photoshop) I think its the venue! They were shot in a renovated lepers hospital here in Ireland and I think that foggy dewy atmosphere is more about the fact that its haunted and nothing else! Mwah ahaha! (am I too late for Halloween?)
